Together with FIRST-Divisions I (Inflammation & Pain), II (Cardiovascular Biology) and V (Technology Platform), the GRK "Roles of Eicosanoids in Biology and Medicine" holds the summer school from Sept. 1-5.

Program

The scientific program will start on Sunday morning 9:00, Sept 1 and end on Wednesday noon, Sept. 5. There will be student lectures that focus on recent scientific achievements and overview lectures b.held by senior scientist. The sessions will cover

  • arachidonic acid metabolism (cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase pathways)
  • CYP-mediated arachidonic acid metabolism (EETs)
  • nitric oxide pathway
  • sphingolipid metabolism
  • proteomics and lipidomics
  • structural biology of the eicosanoid-related enzymes and receptors

The Summer Schools 2007 of the Graduate Schools "Roles of Eicosanoids in Biology and Medicine" and "Biologicals" will be b.held at the Puttererschlössl and the Volksschule Aigen.

The youth hostle Puttererschlössl in Aigen im Ennstal is located on a small hill with a fantastic view over the Lake Putterersee. The Puttererschlössl is surrounded by meadows and wide open spaces, and offers a large outdoor area for activities and sports.
